Pop khan mai, Sanghkla! (see you later)

Look what we found just down the street from our guest house!  The man who owns this place is an American who came to do a master's degree in nutrition in Bangkok and just stayed.  He's been building boats since he was 14.  Now he builds canoes and kayaks using strips of wood.  They are beautiful but heavy in weight and in maintenance.

No journey is complete without a bump in the road.  This trip was to be no exception.  Two days before we left, Nat stepped into an open drain hole, scraped his shin and got an enourmous swelling on his leg.  I found him wondering around the 7/11 looking for gauze and hydrogen peroxide.  Deciding that the hospital was probably a better place to find all that, we pedalled over and he was ushered into a wheel chair, then to Emergecy where a helpful nurse cleaned, swabbed, and bound it all up.  He carried on with no wingeing, went back the next day to have the dressing changed;  it looked pretty impressive and he said it didn't really hurt much.
